| Preface IHS Nomenclature Program consists of the IHS/Dimino Automated Registration Program integrated with IHS/Dimino TGHL, The Global Hibiscus Library as described herein. It is intended primarily for IHS members, but is open to anyone who might wish to make registrations using this system. Questions or comments should be directed to either of the below persons: IHS
Nomenclature Officer: Joseph Dimino snowballjd@virgilio.it In cooperation with the ICRA (International Cultivar Registration Authority) and the AuHS (Australian Hibiscus Society) which provides that function, including authorization by the AuHS Executive Committee, the IHS Board Of Directors has elected to commence an IHS Nomenclature Program wherein effective as of April 17th, 2006 the IHS is authorized to receive official registration submissions for the international registry. The procedure is as follows: 1) Submissions are sent automatically to the IHS Nomenclature Officer, who provides preliminary registration authorization or contacts the person making the submission concerning possible problems. 2) The IHS Nomenclature Officer, upon acceptance of preliminary registrations, uploads them to TGHL (a function to be automated in the coming weeks) 3) The IHS Nomenclature Officer forwards the data the to ICRA for final confirmation. Upon final ICRA confirmation or after 30 days, which ever is the soonest, the preliminary registration becomes a confirmed registration at which time the data is uploaded to the international registry and forwarded to the AmHS for their records. 4) Name reservations will also be permitted and transmitted to both the ICRA and AmHS to prevent duplicate reservations. 5) Under developed is auto updating, wherein upon ICRA confirmation, the data auto uploads to the international registry as well. |
